We recently visited the YMCA in downtown Orlando where we will be starting our Sunday services in the Fall of 2012. The annual report from 2010 showed that the YMCA of central Florida, which includes 24 complexes, has a total of 156,910 members. If you divide that evenly, it equals to over 6,000 members per facility. Downtown Orlando is the largest and far surpasses the rest and so guessing it’s member count reaches over 10,000 isn’t too much of a stretch.

Andrew has been meeting with the manager of the downtown facility for quite some time now about how we can partner with them for the future. Her and the staff at the Y have agreed to allow us to use the facility (cafe included) for FREE indefinitely! This is a huge answer to prayer and completely unexpected. Andrew has in turn offered his time as the Y’s chaplain and has already been able to make some very meaningful connections with the staff there. This is the place that God has put us.
